The local church is the headquarters for God's mission and ministry on earth--the visible expression of the body of Christ. Associations of churches, however, are Biblical. For an overview, here is an excellent summary:

I love senior adults--I am one! I understand that if we do not reach a younger generation, the local church will age and die as we do, but that does not mean we have to neglect ministry to and with seasoned saints!

Church conflict is nothing new. It is not the result of polarization and politicization in 21st-century American church life. In fact, nearly as soon as the church was birthed, growing pains arrived (see Acts 6).

Since last we met, ministry has been full-speed ahead! 2022 is done and 2023 has begun.

New Year's resolutions are often mocked. I understand. We frequently are quick to express our intention without true dedication. When all is said and done, there is more said than done.

This is the season when our Southern Baptist Churches are encouraged to invest a week of prayer for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions.

Here is a devotional that I posted on social media. In case you did not see it, I thought it was timely to share it as we come to celebrate Thanksgiving Day.

We have just come through a month when many churches recognized their pastors for their faithful ministry of the Word. I hope you did.

So, this Lord's Day brings one of the favorite times on the church calendar--time change! We gain an hour of sleep and that usually yields a gain in attendance. Also, there is generally less grumpiness and more gladness reflected on Baptist faces. Winner, winner, chicken dinner!!!
