I am back in the saddle--just not riding too high! Thank you for your support--financially and prayerfully--on my mission trip to Armenia. It was great, if exhausting. But, serving the Lord is a good kind of tired. The trip was a blessing and I plan to share some about it (along with other mission matters) at White Oak Baptist Church this Sunday evening at 6. If your church does not have Sunday evening services, I know that church would be happy to have you! Then, on Monday morning in our Pastor's Conference that meets at 10, I will also share about Armenia. In the following newsletter, I will give a report also. Pictured below are some seminary students I taught while there.
But, for now, I just wanted to express gratitude that I was permitted to represent Haywood Baptists in a nation halfway around the world. I hope that as I share about the opportunities there, other pastors and churches will be inclined to take a trip--if not there to another location. Nothing so drives home the importance of the Great Commission like participating in it! Lives are changed--including your own.
So, it is a busy time with a lot of catching up to do. By the grace of God and your intercession, we will ride on. Don't forget the listening session concerning moving the Associational Offices to East Waynesville Baptist Church, which will be this Tuesday at our current location at 7 PM. Also--pastors we need a commitment from you about the Jim Shaddix preaching seminar (details in this newsletter).
Blessed to Serve,
Dennis Thurman, AMS
