When faced with overwhelming odds, King Jehoshaphat, prayed, "nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You," (2 Chron. 20:12 NKJV). Do you feel that way? To look around at the devastation is distressing. The challenges are beyond our power to meet. We must look up! Nothing is too hard for the Lord! He gave Israel victory and He can do the same for us.
But, they were commanded to trust God, line up, march out with the choir in front singing praises to the Lord. God took care of the problem at that point. Here is an axiom I learned years ago, "Apart from God, we cannot, but apart from us God will not."
So, this Monday at Pastor's Conference we will meet together to seek the Lord's plan, talk of the opportunities in the midst of these challenges, and try to determine, "Now what?" What are the resources the Lord is providing, what do we yet need, and what is the next step of faith and obedience. Stephen Buys, Pastor of The Orchard Church will be here to speak. He and that church have been at the tip of the spear in this fight for recovery. We are trying to line up someone from Baptists On Missions, as well.
Here is some helpful discussion from our last Pastor's Conference if you missed it: https://youtu.be/DNVAEUz1gg4
Let's keep our eyes on Jesus!
